Octopus Wood Knob | Premium Wooden Cabinet Knob India

In short: the Octopus Wood Knob is a wood cabinet knob from the Brass Essence range, 65 mm — best for nursery and playroom drawers as part of an ocean-themed set.

Brass Essence Product Code: W-0024

The Octopus Wood Knob carves a rounded head with curling, radiating tentacles in solid natural wood, at 65mm wide and 60mm tall — the tallest of the ocean-themed shapes in the fourteen-piece W-0024 series, giving the tentacles enough vertical room to curl distinctly around the head.

Where the starfish's points spread flat and even, the octopus's tentacles curl with more dimension and movement, carved to suggest motion rather than a static radial shape — the most visually dynamic silhouette among the series' sea-life pieces.

Because the tentacles extend further from the central body than the starfish's flatter points, the octopus knob has slightly more surface detail to catch the eye, making it a good anchor piece if you're mixing several ocean-themed knobs across one set of drawers and want one shape to draw more attention.

Beach wood keeps the octopus pale and light, suited to a bright, airy nursery, while walnut deepens the tone and makes the curling tentacle detail stand out with more contrast and shadow definition.

Alongside the whale, starfish, and jellyfish, the octopus completes the ocean-themed cluster within the W-0024 series, all sharing the same natural wood construction, brushed matt finish, and single-size, single-price format. Its taller profile also gives it slightly more presence than the flatter starfish or jellyfish shapes when viewed from across a room.

What is the Octopus Wood Knob?

The Octopus Wood Knob is a wood cabinet knob from the Brass Essence range. According to Janke hardness testing data for American black walnut, walnut measures roughly 1,010 lbf on the Janke hardness scale, the industry-standard test for a wood's resistance to denting, putting it comfortably in the range used for quality furniture and cabinetry, which is part of why wood is a genuinely practical choice for hardware that gets handled daily, not just a decorative one.

How does the octopus knob's shape differ from the starfish knob?

The octopus's tentacles curl with more dimension and suggest movement, extending further from the central body than the starfish's flatter, evenly spaced points, giving it a more visually dynamic silhouette.

Is the octopus a good anchor piece for a themed ocean set of drawers?

Yes, its taller size and more detailed tentacle curls make it stand out slightly more than the other sea-life shapes, useful as a focal point among the whale, starfish, and jellyfish knobs.

Does the walnut tone bring out the tentacle detail better than beach wood?

Walnut's deeper tone does give more contrast and shadow definition to the curling tentacles, while beach wood keeps the overall shape lighter and softer — both are valid choices depending on the room.
