Description
In short: the Cloud Wood Knob is a wood cabinet knob from the Brass Essence range, 65 mm — best for a gentle, non-animal accent knob, especially paired with the star for a sky-themed set.
Product Code: W-0024
The Cloud Wood Knob rounds out a soft, undulating cloud silhouette in solid beach wood, at 65mm wide — the second of only two non-animal, single-colorway shapes in the fourteen-piece W-0024 series, alongside the star knob, both offered in beach wood alone.
The cloud's rolling, bumpy outline is carved without any sharp points or directional features at all, making it possibly the gentlest, most rounded silhouette across the entire series — even softer in profile than the turtle's domed shell or the hippo's rounded body.
Because clouds have no natural front or back, this knob shares the star's forgiving, any-angle mounting — a practical pairing for the two non-animal shapes in the collection, both of which sidestep the orientation considerations that matter more for directional animals like the fox or giraffe.
The single beach wood colorway keeps the cloud pale and airy, true to its subject, and pairs naturally with the star knob for a simple sky-themed pair within an otherwise animal-dominated nursery set.
The brushed matt finish leaves the rounded, bumpy surface soft to the touch throughout, with no sharp transitions between the cloud's rolling curves — a comfortable, undemanding grip for small hands. Its calm, familiar shape also makes it a natural choice for a bedtime or reading-nook drawer where a soothing visual theme matters.
- Best for: a gentle, non-animal accent knob, especially paired with the star for a sky-themed set
- Available in: beach wood only
- Fixing: single-point, standard knob mounting, grips evenly from any angle
Specification: Material — natural wood; Finish — brushed matt; Color — beach wood; Size — 65mm x 45mm.
What is the Cloud Wood Knob?
The Cloud Wood Knob is a wood cabinet knob from the Brass Essence range. According to Janke hardness testing data for American black walnut, walnut measures roughly 1,010 lbf on the Janke hardness scale, the industry-standard test for a wood's resistance to denting, putting it comfortably in the range used for quality furniture and cabinetry, which is part of why wood is a genuinely practical choice for hardware that gets handled daily, not just a decorative one.
Does the cloud knob pair naturally with any other shape in the series?
Yes, it pairs especially well with the star knob — both are the only non-animal, single-colorway pieces in the W-0024 series, making a simple sky-themed combination within a larger set.
Is the cloud shape as easy to grip as the more rounded animal knobs?
Yes, arguably more so — its rolling, bumpy outline has no sharp points or directional features at all, making it one of the gentlest, most forgiving shapes across the entire fourteen-piece series.
Why is the cloud only offered in beach wood, not walnut?
Along with the star, it's one of only two shapes in the series offered in a single beach wood colorway, rather than the beach wood and walnut choice given to the twelve animal shapes.
